IUS Alumnus Ibrahim Salihović Selected Among World’s Top 21 for Prestigious Erasmus Mundus META 4.0 Programme

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its alumnus, Ibrahim Salihović, a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering study program, who has been admitted to the highly prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master META 4.0 (Manufacturing 4.0) programme.

Selected as one of only 21 scholarship holders worldwide from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants, Ibrahim has been awarded a fully funded Erasmus Mundus scholarship worth €51,600. This remarkable accomplishment places him among the top candidates globally and marks a historic milestone—he is the first student from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the first from the wider former Yugoslav region, to be selected for this programme since its establishment.

The META 4.0 programme brings together exceptional students from across the globe, forming a highly competitive and diverse cohort. Participants come from countries including Albania, Bangladesh, Canada, Ethiopia, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Reflecting on his achievement, Ibrahim shared that seeing his name among such distinguished global talent is both humbling and motivating, emphasizing that consistency, discipline, and a clear vision were key to reaching this milestone.

Over the next two years, Ibrahim will pursue his studies across several leading European institutions, with academic mobility spanning France, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, and Norway. This unique international experience will allow him to further develop his expertise in advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies within some of Europe’s most renowned academic environments.

Ibrahim’s journey stands as a powerful example of dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence, and serves as an inspiration to current and future IUS students.
