Multiplier event- Modeling Educational Robot (MER) at IUS
Multiplier event- Modeling Educational Robot (MER) was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Hadžiabdić and Nađa Beglerović, Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on October 13, 2021. The project was funded by the Government of Slovenia and the European Commission, and was implemented by the following partners: International University of Sarajevo (BiH), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), School Center Novo Mesto (Slovenia), Muratpaşa Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey), ITIS Polo Tecnico Fermi-Gadda (Italy) and AIJU Instituto Tecnológico (Spain).
The aim of the project was to develop a model of an educational robot with accompanying teaching materials that will be used in the high school curricula. The robotics program will be implemented in three partner schools in Slovenia, Turkey and Italy. Robotics is emerging as an unavoidable topic in modern primary and secondary school curricula. In addition to providing students with a lot of fun, this area brings together some important theoretical concepts from math, physics and programming.
Welcoming speech was given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas. Afterwards, renowned expert in the field of robotics with extensive international experience, Professor Emeritus at IUS, Dr. Asif Šabanović gave a lecture on "Robotics in the 21st Century". The participants were also addressed by experts from IUS who worked on the project: Associate Professor Dr. Muhamed Hadžiabdić and Assistant Ammar Hodža, who informed the participants about the details of the project. More information about the project can be found at: https://www.merproject.net/en/.
At the end of the symposium, the participants were given certificates and teaching materials that will help them with the robotics teaching process.
