IUS hosts the Fourth Transnational MER Project Meeting
International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted the Fourth Transnational "Modelling Educational Robot" (MER) project meeting in Sarajevo on August 25, 2021. The meeting gathered project partners from Solski center Novo Mesto (Slovenia), Muratpasa Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey), ITIS Polo Tecnico Fermi-Gadda (Italy), and “AIJU” (Spain).
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress that has been made thus far as well as to discuss and work on the activities described in the project plan (e.g. course preparation, E-learning platform, training in Spain, multiplier events, etc.).
“Modelling Education Robot is a project that aims to address a need to modernize high-school education and harmonize it with rapidly changing world in which robots are not exclusively used in factories, but are present in the everyday life. The project results include building a robot model and creating curricula through the process of building a robot step by step, so that students can comprehend basic and advance features of robotics in an interesting way. We expect that the MER project will lead to improvement of high school education and will help foster student curiosity in robotics” said Associate Professor, Dr. Muhamed Hadžiabdić, the MER project coordinator for IUS.
