IUS Mechanical Engineering Students Explore Industry Innovations at MDG International

Assistant Professor Dr. Ismar Alagić led a group of students from the Mechanical Engineering program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on an educational visit to MDG International.

During the comprehensive full-day excursion, students explored MDG's production processes, gaining insights from raw material handling and preparation to machining, quality control, and final product delivery. The visit highlighted cutting-edge processing technologies and the meticulous organization of production workflows, underpinned by sophisticated testing and measurement equipment.

Throughout the tour, students benefitted from the expertise of engineers Haris Obarščanin (an IUS alumni) and Tarik Hadžimuratović, who emphasized the importance of professional development for aspiring engineers.

The significance of this visit is underscored by MDG International's role as one of ten partner firms in the "Business-oriented Education and Competences at The International University of Sarajevo as a right place for vocational on-the-job training in industry – BECIUS" project, supported by the Regional Challenge Fund in collaboration with the International University of Sarajevo.

This hands-on experience exemplifies the fruitful collaboration between academia and industry, providing students with invaluable real-world insights and enhancing their educational journey at IUS.
